, this is one of the main runways at san jose's mineta international airport so other flights that need to come in are being delayed as they investigate this situation. certainly if you have plans heading out to the airport if you have a flight later on or you're going to pick somebody up at the airport, call the airline ahead of time to be sure it's not delayed from this incident. >> once again, fire crews at the scene at san jose mineta international airport. it's alaska airlines holding up to 100 people. people have come and gone from the two buses. fire apparatus there but doesn't look like they are dousing the plane by any stretch. we are trying to get more information. we are told that the smell of burnt metal was prevalent outside the plane and perhaps inside. it appears that everyone is safe. >> it does. we don't see any ambulances out there. at the scene since this is going on. this just happened. it could be precautionary. the passengers were taken off the plane. now it appears they are being allowed back here in the plane so this could be a precaution and not a really ba

upper 30s. 45 in san jose. 46 in san francisco. you probably don't need the umbrella at least for the first half of the day. you'll notice the winds picking up out of the south as we move into the afternoon. right now those winds gusty at times in the hills but that will mix down to seaç level as the cold front here which is on the north coast slides toward the bay area. the timing on this system has slowed down a little bit. maybe some good news now heading toward the first half of the evening commute notice lunchtime still with the sunshine and then the clouds start to spill in. 7:00 now starting to see the rain heading toward the peninsula and then around 9:00, 10:00 and by midnight tonight is when the cold front is racing right across on top of the bay area. temperatures as we go hour by hour probably the warmest numbers around early afternoon and then cooling as we head into the evening with the winds picking up and after this cold front comes through bringing us rain later, much unsettled conditions will continue as we go into wednesday, thursday and frid friday. showers a

sex offender. now, the lady who lives on southbrook drive in south san jose tells me she awoke to find him standing over her in bed. she chased him out of the house, told him to keep running because she was calling the police. i said, wow, that's pretty gutsy. she tells me she always had that instinct in her. officers were able to set up a perimeter within 90 seconds since coincidentally they were already patrolling the area for other quality of life crimes in that neighborhood. she was able to give them a very good description. she did fall asleep with the tv on. campo was found within minutes. >> the fact that they were able to respond in less than two minutes, lock the area down, he probably came out and tried to pretend that he was just a nearby resident because he figured there was so many officers in the area that he wasn't going to be able to avoid detection very long. so he probably rolled the dice and tried to trick us into thinking he was somebody who lived in the area. >> reporter: campo was arrested, as i mentioned. he was wearing an ankle monitoring bracelet as requir

creating a high-speed rail project that would connect san jose to san francisco as part of the statewide high-speed rail system. it is an important project where i'm very excited that california will become the first state to actually start construction potentially this year on this. so, just to compare ideas here and where we are in this, currently the high-speed rail authority is proposing to electrify caltrain, of course, to build a temporary $250 million station at fourth and king, and with electrification it would not yet go to the transbay terminal. that requires, of course, the dtx or downtown extension. what we have looked in talking to caltrain about is to combine the electrification and downtown extension. we think it's important we get to it sooner rather than later. [speaker not understood] implemented more quickly, there could be more environmentally friendly project and we think could be delivered as a public private partnership. i always have a hard time getting that out. caltrain, of course, electrification of caltrain is a way of getting high-speed rail to the
